On the Blog

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday was all about Bookish Wishes! I haven’t checked many bookish wishes yet, but I will be blog hopping and granting as many as I can over the next few weeks! If you have any bookish wishes, let me know in the comments and I’ll see if I can grant them!

Here are the links for everything that was published this week on Kait Plus Books:

Off the Blog

  • I was super productive this week!
  • I worked Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (which is my full summer schedule unless someone is on vacation), then spent Thursday trying to recover because I had negative spoons.
  • On Friday I had an appointment and then I went to the movies! for the first time since Frozen 2! I saw In The Heights and I really enjoyed it. I was the only person in the theater and while I was there I realized three important things:
    • 1) just the act of going to the movies makes me so happy. I’m not crazy about going with other people, but I love going by myself. I was going about once a month pre-covid and getting back to it was a major serotonin boost!
    • 2) I definitely need to request a CC device next time I go to the movies, because I cannot follow what’s going on without captions.
    • 3) I fucking hate Wells traffic in the summer. Once I got to Mile road, the five minutes it should have taken to get to my doctors took about fifteen, and then going to the movie theater was just a clusterfuck of cars in the parking lot and I just really don’t like Wells in the summer.
  • After the movies I ended up walking around Target and then driving up to South Portland to pick something up. I listened to The Guinevere Deception on audio, and WOW did I pick up on a bunch of things on my third read! I started The Camelot Betrayal this morning, and I cannot wait to finally have answers to all my questions!
  • Yesterday I was completely out of spoons (because I did a thing the day before) and didn’t do much.
  • Today is cleaning day! I’ve already done a bunch and I’m ready for a break. I hate cleaning, but I’m excited to be able to take pictures of my clean and organized bookshelf later.

Currently Reading: I’m finally reading What We Devour by Linsey Miller! I’ve tried to pick it up a few times already, but I’m never in the mood for dark fantasy. Fingers crossed this time it’ll stick!

Currently Listening To: I’m listening to The Camelot Betrayal by Kiersten White!

Just Finished Reading: I finished Kind of Sort of Fine by Spencer Hall (review here) and it was… kind of sort of fine? I also read Speak for Yourself by Lana Wood Johnson and that is THE BEST BOOK EVER WRITTEN. I will not be taking counter arguments at this time, thank you.

Just Finished Listening To: I finished The Guinevere Deception Friday after all my driving around, and LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I’ve already read it twice, but it was interesting listening to the audio this time.

Books: The One True Me and You by Remi K. England, The Excalibur Curse by Kiersten White. After that, Name-a-Thon!

Audiobooks: The Camelot Betrayal, and then I’m not sure!

No new #bookmail this week, but I added a few books to my tbr! Here’s what I’m looking forward to reading (someday)

Everything casts a shadow. Even the world we live in. And as with every shadow, there is a place where it must touch. A seam, where the shadow meets its source.

Once again I didn’t post much, but I like what I did! I think I’ll do more photos in the same style as the Again Again post.

  1. The bookish wishes on this week’s Top Ten Tuesday was a lot of fun. Part of the joy of having a Little Free Library is seeing the delight of people finding books they like.

Kind of Sort of Fun? I’m sorry it was only kind of sort of fun.

Gallant looks good, but March 1, 2022 is a long way away!

  2. You were super productive this week. That’s awesome that you’re on a three-day work week for the summer. Me too. I’m enjoying the extra time and am using some of it to catch up on my reading. Nataie @ Literary Rambles

  3. I’m glad you had a productive week and got to go to the movies—that’s really fun! I definitely miss going to the movies, so hopefully that will be in the cards again soon. And I hope you can get a CC device in the future so it’s easier to enjoy the movie! I’m sorry Kind of Sort of Fine wasn’t super-great, but it looks like you have lots of other fun books coming up! I’m looking forward to reading Jukebox—I read Chanani’s debut, Pashmina, and had mixed feelings about it, but I want to give her books another shot, especially since Jukebox looks really fun! Thanks so much for the great post!
