Welcome to my mini-challenge!

Hi there! You were probably expecting to see Vague Recollections here, but I have retired that (for now, at least). Today we’re going to play a game called BOOKISH WOULD YOU RATHER! If you used facebook the same way I did around 2010, this game may seem familiar to you.

instructions

DO NOT READ THE QUESTIONS YET!

It is very important that you do not read the questions until AFTER you have           completed the following:

  1. Create a list of TEN BOOKS that you have read. You don’t need to remember everything about them, but you should be able to identify the main character, love interest, and villain for each of them.
  2. Write down (or type) the list and number the books from 1-10.

Ready?

Okay!

Click ‘View Spoiler‘ (no actual spoilers exist, I just don’t want anyone peeking at the questions ahead of time), answer the questions, and try not to hurt yourself from laughing too hard!

      Answers:
      1. Alone since there is no live interest in 7
      2. Love interest of book one
      3. Villian of book 4
      4. Trade lives with love interest
      5. No love interest in book 6
      6. No love interest in book 5
      7. No villian in book 10
      8. Villian headlining
      9. Rhyme with 7
      10. Main character of book 3

  2. Isabella Hansen

    1 Rivers of London
    2 Harry potter Deadly Hallows
    3 Alice in wonderland
    4 Artemis Fowl
    5 Vampire Armand
    6 Fables
    7 The Magicians
    8 Usagi yojimbo
    9 Misery
    10 Naruto

    1. Harry would not only survive the zombie apocalyps, but cure all the zombies if he had help from Alice.

    2. Definitely love interest from Rivers of London. Beverly is cool (though in my mind the love interest will always be Thomas Nightingale).

    3. I’ll take the epic duel with Opal Cobolt. She seems easier to beat than Naruto.

    4. I’ll take a month as a cult-leading vampire.

    5. It’s easier for Peter Grant to try and stop Bigsby. At least he has magic. Ratchett would not stand a chance.

    6. Marius de Romanus would be a very caring but slightly timid ruler, with a hands off approach. Whereas I shudder to think of what horror a collaboration between Artemis Fowl and Voldemort would unleash on the world.

    7. YES.

    8. The concert with Lord Hikiji (and a quest appearence of Jei).

    9. I doubt that most vampires are particulary good cooks, so I will just have to rhyme every other word with The Beast.

    10. It would be easier to free Ginny with The Adversaries help than with Alice.

  3. My list of Books:

    1. Guilty Pleasures by Laurell K Hamilton

    2. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

    3. Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

    4. City of Bones by Cassandra Claire

    5. And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie

    6. A Kiss of Shadows by Laurell K Hamilton

    7. The Sun Down Motel by Simone St James

    8. The Guest List by Lucy Foley

    9. Harry and Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by JK Rowling

    10. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas

    Questions and Answers:

If the main character of book 2 was trapped in the zombie apocalypse, would they have a better chance of surviving alone or with the love interest of book 7? Along since Katniss is very resourceful and there was a love interest in book 7 really. Lol

Would you rather be trapped on an island with the love interest of book 1 or the main character of book 9? Love interest of book 1 since he is an over 400 year old Vampire named Jean-Claude and the main Character of book 9 is an 11 year old.

Would you rather have an epic duel with the villain of book 4 or the main character of book 10?

One of the main characters of book 10 since they spend most of the book drunk as skunks lol.

Would you rather trade lives with the love interest of book 3 forever or the villain of book 5 for a month?

The love interest of book 3 since I would be a vampire or a werewolf. I think I rather lived forever or a long time then die.

If the love interest of book 6 were planning something dastardly, would the main character of book 1 or the villain of book 9 have a better chance at stopping them? The main character of book 1 since she is a badass.

Would it be better to have the love interest of book 5 in charge of the world for a week, or to have the main character of book 4 join forces with the villain of book 2?

This one is a hard question to answer. Since everyone in book 5 are kind of stupid at times and President Snow was a jerk and I don’t think he would have gotten alone with Clary for very long.

If the main characters from books 2, 6, and 9 got together, could they defeat the villain of book 10 armed only with their wits and a bucket of rubber ducks?

Possibly. She was pretty powerful but Ferye beat her so I am sure Katniss, Merry and Harry could beat her too.

Would you rather see a concert where the villain of book 8 was headlining, or a movie with the love interest of book 8 as the star?

Movie with the love interest. He was way more interesting for the few pages he was in then the villain was in the whole book.

Would you rather have every meal made for you by the villain of book 5, or have to rhyme every other word with the main character’s name from book 7?

Rhyme every other word with the main characters name in book 7 since the villain of book 5 would probably try to poison me.

The love interest of book 2 has been framed for murder! Will you have a better chance of solving it with the villain of book 6 or the main character of book 3?

This is another tough question since Cel in book 3 gets other people to do his dirty work and Bell from book 3 is just annoying. I guess I would go with Cel since his flunkies usually gets stuff done.

  4. Zoë tinybookwitch

First of all.. this is GENIUS! I will repeat this with friends ✨
I had some pretty funny answers since I mixed adult, YA and middle grade books! Kids had to defeat racism with rubber ducks.. yeah this one was sad. But choosing between listening to the Witch of the Waste singing and watching Howl strut around on my screen.. very easy choice!

  5. Janet Goodell

If the main character of book 2 was trapped in the zombie apocalypse, would they have a better chance of surviving alone or with the love interest of book 7?
Bri (On the Come Up) would definitely fare better with Gideon the 9th’s love interest no matter who it was!

Would you rather be trapped on an island with the love interest of book 1 or the main character of book 9?
Leo (Ducks, Newburyport) is so sweet and thoughtful.

Would you rather have an epic duel with the villain of book 4 or the main character of book 10?
There was no villain in The Stone Diaries so I’ll pick that!

Would you rather trade lives with the love interest of book 3 forever or the villain of book 5 for a month?
Since it’s God in heaven, maybe? Jerk locking women In a cast!e might make a month too long.

If the love interest of book 6 were planning something dastardly, would the main character of book 1 or the villain of book 9 have a better chance at stopping them?
The established powers in Jamaica could do so much more than anxiety ridden woman narrating Ducks.

Would it be better to have the love interest of book 5 in charge of the world for a week, or to have the main character of book 4 join forces with the villain of book 2?
The love interest wishes no one harm.

If the main characters from books 2, 6, and 9 got together, could they defeat the villain of book 10 armed only with their wits and a bucket of rubber ducks?
I think so. Except that lack of conscience…

Would you rather see a concert where the villain of book 8 was headlining, or a movie with the love interest of book 8 as the star?
Definitely any love interest over Ronald of CJ Box thrillers.

Would you rather have every meal made for you by the villain of book 5, or have to rhyme every other word with the main character’s name from book 7?

The love interest of book 2 has been framed for murder! Will you have a better chance of solving it with the villain of book 6 or the main character of book 3?
Let’s see–a bunch of slave holders saving a black teenager or CS Lewis. I’ll take Lewis

  6. Roz

    1. Earth Girl – Jarra, Fian, Petra
    2. Hunger Games – Katniss, Peeta, Snow
    3. Raksura – Moon, Jade, Fell
    4. Graceling – Katsa, Po, Lek
    5. Mistborn – Vin, Elend, Lord Ruler
    6. Star Wars – Luke, Mara, Thrawn
    7. P&P – Elizabeth, Darcy, Wickham
    8. Percy Jackson – Percy, Annabeth, Kronos
    9. Sabriel – Sabriel, Touchstone, Kerrigor
    10. Mediator – Suze, Jesse, Paul

    1. Defintely alone lol
    2. Sabriel would probably be better at survival but Fian might be more pleasant company so unsure
    3. Suze, definitely. She would absolutely kick my ass but at least she wouldnt be able to mindmend me
    4. Both have positions of power I don’t want, so I guess the Lord Ruler for a month since it’s just temporary. And it could be cool to try out his powers for a while
    5. You know I’m gonna have to say Jarra bc her capacity for accidentally inducing change and silving problems is impressive; I feel like Kerrigor wouldn’t even know what to do with Mara’s particular brand of competency
    6. I literally can’t imagine Katsa going along with Snow and Elend is actually a pretty good ruler so having him get shit down for a week would definitely be better
    7. Oh hell yeah. Paul is a shitwad but he’s not gonna be able to stand against Katniss’s surliness, Luke’s ray-of-sunshiness, and Sabriel’s earnestness, never mind all of their competency
    8. A concert headlining Kronos would be fucking hilarious so that please
    9. Is this a for life situation or temporary? I mean I guess rhyming with Elizabeth would be safer for my health than having the Lord Ruler cook for me
    10. Thrawn. The man’s powers of deduction are ridiculously impressive. Though Moon is very good at getting to the root of sticky problems, so I wouldn’t be hurting for competent help either way

  7. 1.If the main character of book 2 was trapped in the zombie apocalypse, would they have a better chance of surviving alone or with the love interest of book 7?

Dorian from Hostage to Pleasure by Nalini Singh – better off alone and not need Rafe’s help from Rebekah Weatherspoon’s romance

    2. Would you rather be trapped on an island with the love interest of book 1 or the main character of book 9? Mercy Thompson (Iron Kissed by Patricia Briggs ) over Mad Rogen (Burn from me by Ilona Andrews)

3.Would you rather have an epic duel with the villain of book 4 or the main character of book 10? Lucas (Slave to Sensation) over human crazy scientist from Molly Harper’s How to Date Your Dragon.

    4. Would you rather trade lives with the love interest of book 3 forever or the villain of book 5 for a month?
Deal with Devil by Kit Rocha villain

    5. If the love interest of book 6 were planning something dastardly, would the main character of book 1 or the villain of book 9 have a better chance at stopping them?
Iron Kissed by Patricia Briggs has someone killing fae and my book 6 love interest is a selkie, so definitely would be a good match up

    6. Would it be better to have the love interest of book 5 in charge of the world for a week, or to have the main character of book 4 join forces with the villain of book 2?
Both love interests in Deal with Devil would be great

    7. If the main characters from books 2, 6, and 9 got together, could they defeat the villain of book 10 armed only with their wits and a bucket of rubber ducks?
Dorian did get his revenge on book 10 villain, so yes with extra help from Toby Daye and Mercy Thompson

8.Would you rather see a concert where the villain of book 8 was headlining, or a movie with the love interest of book 8 as the star? Movie with NY city avatar of The City We Became by NK Jemisin, hands down

    9. Would you rather have every meal made for you by the villain of book 5, or have to rhyme every other word with the main character’s name from book 7? Deal with the Devil villain

    10. The love interest of book 2 has been framed for murder! Will you have a better chance of solving it with the villain of book 6 or the main character of book 3?
Book 3 is a mystery, A deadly inside scoop but she is a novice. Definitely pick the fae god in Artificial Night
Teresa Lynch recently posted…How to Date Your Dragon (CBR13 Book Review #6)My Profile

  8. A. If the main character of book 2 was trapped in the zombie apocalypse, would they have a better chance of surviving alone or with the love interest of book 7?
Adrian would survive alone just fine, but he would much prefer to help the kids from book 7 to survive.

    B. Would you rather be trapped on an island with the love interest of book 1 or the main character of book 9?
Huh. They both would be really good choices. I’m going with Barney from 1 because he’s from Earth and not used to magic, which might trip Melinara up.

    C. Would you rather have an epic duel with the villain of book 4 or the main character of book 10?
I would be more likely to win against the girls from book 10, but I think I’ll take out the baddie from book 4 — it would be more showy and the victory would be worthwhile.

    D. Would you rather trade lives with the love interest of book 3 forever or the villain of book 5 for a month?
Definitely with the villain of book 5 — I could coast by as an evil overlord for a month and would prefer the comforts of ruling to the work taking care of a house that 3 would be doing.

    E. If the love interest of book 6 were planning something dastardly, would the main character of book 1 or the villain of book 9 have a better chance at stopping them?

    F. Would it be better to have the love interest of book 5 in charge of the world for a week, or to have the main character of book 4 join forces with the villain of book 2?
Hmm, the main character of book 4 is already working with a similar villain of book 2, so she’s well able to handle it. The love interest of book 5 would be a terrible ruler!

    G. If the main characters from books 2, 6, and 9 got together, could they defeat the villain of book 10 armed only with their wits and a bucket of rubber ducks?
Well, the could give it a real run for the money. Those would be good weapons, though (the villain of book 10 is Patriarchy)

    H. Would you rather see a concert where the villain of book 8 was headlining, or a movie with the love interest of book 8 as the star?
I like police procedurals, so I’m going with love interest from book 8

    I. Would you rather have every meal made for you by the villain of book 5, or have to rhyme every other word with the main character’s name from book 7?
I’ll eat book 5’s cooking I guess. Norbert is too hard to rhyme!

    J. The love interest of book 2 has been framed for murder! Will you have a better chance of solving it with the villain of book 6 or the main character of book 3?
Definitely going with #3 Martin — he’s pretty sharp. Book’s 6’s villain was a bit of an idiot.

  9. 1. The Raven Boys
    2. Beach Read
    3. Scythe
    4. Renegades
    5. The Thousandth Floor
    6. FanGirl
    7. The Simple Wild
    8. Float Plan
    9. Letters to the Lost
    10. The Bridge

    1. With
    2. Book 1
    3. Book 10
    4. Book 5
    5. Book 1
    6. Book 5
    7. No
    8. Love Interest
    9. Book 5
    10. Book 3

  10. I am late for this challenge, because I was sleeping but it sounds so fun and I don’t want miss it!

I chose all fiction books I read this year, which, coincidentally, is exactly 10. In the order of date read (I looked up the English titles of the books):
    1. What Is Mine (a.k.a. Punishment) by Anne Holt;
    2. Narcissus and Goldmund by Hermann Hesse;
    3. The Moving Finger by Agatha Christie;
    4. Missing Person by Patrick Modiano;
    5. Third Girl by Agatha Christie;
    6. Life of Pi by Yann Martel;
    7. The Man in the Brown Suit by Agatha Christie;
    8. Cygnet by Season Butler;
    9. Death Comes as the End by Agatha Christie;
    10. Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens.

[If the main character of book 2 was trapped in the zombie apocalypse, would they have a better chance of surviving alone or with the love interest of book 7?]
    With 7.

[Would you rather be trapped on an island with the love interest of book 1 or the main character of book 9?]
    Book 1.

[Would you rather have an epic duel with the villain of book 4 or the main character of book 10?]
Book 4 doesn’t really have a villain so I just wrote down “the war”, and I definitely don’t want to fight in the war 😅 While main character from book 10 would definitely kick my ass. However, if I had powers suitable to epic duel, I would choose 10.

[Would you rather trade lives with the love interest of book 3 forever or the villain of book 5 for a month?]
    3.

[If the love interest of book 6 were planning something dastardly, would the main character of book 1 or the villain of book 9 have a better chance at stopping them?]
Again, book 6 doesn’t really had a love interest, but in any case, a detective (main character of book 1) has far better chance of stopping anyone than the killer from book 9.

[Would it be better to have the love interest of book 5 in charge of the world for a week, or to have the main character of book 4 join forces with the villain of book 2?]
I am starting to see that my laziness to pick the books with well defined love interests and villains and just using vague ideas is backfiring 😂 So here I have to say that it would be better with joint forces of book 4 and 2.

[If the main characters from books 2, 6, and 9 got together, could they defeat the villain of book 10 armed only with their wits and a bucket of rubber ducks?]
    Yes, definitely.

[Would you rather see a concert where the villain of book 8 was headlining, or a movie with the love interest of book 8 as the star?]
This one is funny 😁 Love interest of book 8 is very plain and the movie would not be interesting. But I wrote down that the villain of book 8 is “old people”, so this concert could be good.

[Would you rather have every meal made for you by the villain of book 5, or have to rhyme every other word with the main character’s name from book 7?]
    Book 7.

[The love interest of book 2 has been framed for murder! Will you have a better chance of solving it with the villain of book 6 or the main character of book 3?]
This one is easy. Main character on book 3 already solves murders, while villain of book 6 cannot be useful in any way (unless there is the need to eat the actual killer).

  11. Oh, this was fun! 😀

    1. Clockwork Princess
    2. Bleach 3-in-1 Vol. 11
    3. Chopsticks
    4. Princess Jellyfish Vol. 1
    5. Bleach 3-in-1 Vol. 10
    6. The Water Dragon’s Bride Vol. 3
    7. Platinum End Vol. 4
    8. SNK Vol. 23
    9. Knights of Sidonia Vol. 5
    10. Soul of the Sword

If Ichigo were trapped in the zombie apocalypse, would they have a better chance of surviving alone or with Saki?
Surviving alone! Saki isn’t that strong and her red arrows wouldn’t really be too useful here [unless she used them to convince someone to provide them w/ aid]. He’d wind up being too concerned in protecting her.

Would you rather be trapped on an island with Will (or Jem) or Nagate?
Sign me up for Will or Jem, please!

Would you rather have an epic duel with Inari or Yumeko?
Ah, man- on one hand fighting a Kitsune would be cool, but I really like Yumeko. I think I’d have to go w/ Inari since I don’t like her so far.

Would you rather trade lives with Frank forever or the Espadas/Former Espadas/Aizen/Gin/Tousen for a month?
If I were wise, I’d go with Frank. He has his challenges, but he lives a normal human life. I, on the other hand, am too tempted and will go the more chaotic and dangerous route.

If Subaru were planning something dastardly, would Tessa or the Gauna have a better chance at stopping them?
I can’t picture him doing anything dastardly lol, but if he were, the Gauna for sure! They wiped out so much of humanity.

Would it be better to have Orihime in charge of the world for a week, or to have Tsukimi join forces with Grimmjow/Nnoitra/Szayel?
Orihime! It’d be super interesting to see her do it! She’d be chaotic and creative, but in a non-harmful way. The other option would have the villains wreaking havoc on the world. So much violence & unethical experiments!

If Ichigo, Asahi, and Nagate got together, could they defeat Hakaimono armed only with their wits and a bucket of rubber ducks?
You know what, Ichigo & Nagate might be able to do it. And Asahi has a Water God on her side, so that may help.

Would you rather see a concert where the Mid-East Allied Forces were headlining, or a movie Gabi(?) as the star?
Okay, so, uhhh…. I forgot that there may not have been a love interest in this book, so I just inserted Gabi in there b/c Falco might have a thing for her? But, anyway, going w/ Gabi.

Would you rather have every meal made for you by the Espadas/Former Espadas/Aizen/Gin/Tousen, or have to rhyme every other word with Mirai?
Mirai! Otherwise, I’d probably just be poisoned or something.

Orihime has been framed for murder! Will you have a better chance of solving it with Kogahiko or Glory?

oof Idk about either of these choices. Probably Kogahiko? He seems good at sneaking around, plotting, and using others.
