They were supposed to ignore each other and respect that fine line between them…
Guillermo Lozano is getting a fresh start. New town, new school, and no more reckless behavior. He’s done his time, and now he needs to right his wrongs. But when his work at the local community center throws him into the path of the one girl who is off-limits, friendship sparks…and maybe more.
Regan London needs a fresh perspective. The pressure to stay in her “perfect” relationship and be the good girl all the time has worn her down. But when the walls start to cave in and she finds unexpected understanding from the boy her parents warned about, she can’t ignore her feelings anymore.
The disapproval is instant. Being together might just get Guillermo sent away. But when it comes to the heart, sometimes you have to break the rules and be a little bit reckless…

What would you do if you spent the day with Guillermo and Regan? Where would you go to eat, hang out, relax, etc.?

I’d be down to hang out and listen to music with Guillermo because’s into hip-hop, and I’d definitely like to try authentic Mexican dishes with Regan at one of our city’s local Mexican restaurants.

If Guillermo and Regan were to hang out with characters from other books, who would they be and why?

If we’re talking my books, I could actually see them both meshing well with Trice and Nandy from A Love Hate Thing. Regan could learn from Nandy’s strength and Trice and Guillermo could relate on their backgrounds.

Now, other books I’d say maybe Alex and Brittany from Simone Elkeles’s Perfect Chemistry, Brittany also dealt with trying to live up to an idea of her, and Regan can relate to that. Alex also made some bad decisions and wants to change, and Guillermo can definitely relate to that.

If there was one fictional place you could travel to for a day, where would it be and why?

Maybe Rosewood from the Pretty Little Liars books, something is always going down and maybe I’d put on my detective hat for a day!

If you could meet any fictional character, who would it be and what would you talk about?

Oh my gosh, I’d love to meet Joe Goldberg from You so we can talk about his choice in women. Like, he could do a lot better, and he could chill out on his tactics in the pursuit of love, by a lot.

If you buried a time capsule with three items inside, what three items would you choose and why?

I’d bury my favorite book, The Catcher in the Rye, my favorite movie, Cruel Intentions, and my favorite album, Speak Now. Those three things are good representations of me and what I love.

What was your favorite bit of research you ended up not using?

I can’t say there was any research I didn’t use.

What is your favorite quote, scene, or moment from The Right Side of Reckless?

One favorite quote from Right Side would be:

“Looking at him, was like watching those scorching ember flames dance and sway, becoming hypnotized by their moves. I wanted to get burned, to feel the sensation of him.”

It’s from Regan and I love how she knows dealing with Guillermo is a risk, but she doesn’t care, she wants to experience him.
