Fake boyfriend. Real heartbreak?
Natalie is living her dream: topping the charts and setting records as a Brazilian pop star…until she’s dumped spectacularly on live television. Not only is it humiliating—it could end her career.
Her PR team’s desperate plan? A gorgeous yet oh-so-fake boyfriend. Nati reluctantly agrees, but William is not what she expected. She was hoping for a fierce bad boy—not a soft-hearted British indie film star. While she fights her way back to the top with a sweet and surprisingly swoon-worthy boy on her arm, she starts to fall for William—and realizes that maybe she’s the biggest fake of them all. Can she reclaim her voice and her heart?

What would you do if you spent the day with Natalie? Where would you go to eat, hang out, relax, etc.?

Listen, Natalie’s rich. She’d better treat me to a spa day! I would love to get those face masks and allllll the massage. We’re talking back massage, but also hand massage, feet massage, give me all the massage treatment!

If Natalie were to hang out with characters from other books, who would they be and why?

I think Natalie would get along super well with Hani from Hani & Ishu’s Guide to Fake Dating. They have similar tastes and could bond over how insufferable and stubborn their SOs can be.

If there was one fictional place you could travel to for a day, where would it be and why?

The life of “My Next Life As A Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!” for suuuuure. I’d get to use magic and have amazing food?! Sign. Me. Up. I’d be all Katarina and not even look at any of the gorgeous people around me. That food looks delicious and I would eat it all, then somehow magically make myself ready to eat even more.

If you could meet any fictional character, who would it be and what would you talk about?

Honey Girl by Morgan Rogers made a huge impression on me. I’d love to sit with Grace and just talk about lives. The really deep stuff—childhood stories, parental expectations, everything. She’s someone I related to a lot and I would love to be her friend.

If you buried a time capsule with three items inside, what three items would you choose and why?

My phone (for the playlists), a highlighter (for my stationery love), and this beaten ugly orange rat toy that my cats love (because I love them).

What was your favorite bit of research you ended up not using?

So apparently very famous people have a different pick-up spot a few miles away from airports. They check-in and wait in these separated lounge areas and are picked up by a bus when their airplane arrives. Then they’re the last to board, so they won’t be bothered by people passing them on their way to their seats.

What is your favorite quote, scene, or moment from Like a Love Song?

The scene I had the most fun writing was the scene at the beach in Faro. Everything that involved food was also a lot of fun for me to write about! I love Portuguese cuisine and Faro is the current home of one of my childhood best friends, so I wanted to include it as a gift to her.
