Transform into your most magical self with this one-of-a-kind, manga inspired self-care guide designed to help you discover and harness your inner power- anime style!
Inspired by the wand-wielding, crime-fighting magical girls in your favorite animes and mangas, The Magical Girl’s Guide to Life teaches you how your self-care journey starts by uncovering the magical girl within.

Once your magical girl identity is locked in, you’ll learn how to take on the world and continue your self-growth by: Discovering your magical girl gang Punching fear in the face/defining your monster Developing your magical girl beauty routine Finding love after fighting crime And more!
With gorgeous illustrations and entertaining animated characters, The Magical Girl’s Guide to Life reveals how self-love, sisterhood, and magic go together. Perfect for fans of anime and manga like Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura, and more!
If you could hang out with any fictional characters, who would they be and why?
Definitely the girls from Totally Spies. I feel like they’d be fun to shop with, hang out with, and I could watch them fight bad guys from a safe distance, ha.
If there was one fictional place you could travel to for a day, where would it be and why?
Howl’s Moving Castle. It just looks so beautiful, and it would be cool to vacation in a literal moving castle.
If you buried a time capsule with three items inside, what three items would you choose and why?
My phone because my entire life revolves around it, my favorite Tyler the Creator album because I love music, and of course, my book!
What was your favorite bit of research you discovered while writing?
I didn’t exactly discover anything new, research-wise, because I wrote about a subject I already know! However, I did end up watching episodes of magical girl shows I hadn’t seen before and that was super fun.
What is your favorite quote, scene, or moment from The Magical Girl’s Guide to Life?
My favorite chapter is the one where the reader is encouraged to discover their own unique magic. The world can be so dull, so any reminder of the magic we all have within is so necessary.

This question is excerpted from The Magical Girl’s Guide to Life!
“Adulting is hard. And so is fighting monsters. What do you do to unwind after a long day of battling bad guys?
- A: Do a face mask, light a candle, then cry. But just a little. Except on those days where you cry a lot.
- B: Play video games. Something about strategizing and leveling up in a virtual world just calms your nerves.
- C: Snuggle up under a blanket with your phone, grab a snack, check social media, and connect with others across the world.
- D: Hit the gym and release your stress through physical activity.
- E: Pull out a notebook or sketchbook, and create.”
Let me know what you would do in the comments and have a splendiferous day! (and maybe I’ll tell you what the book says your answer means!)
My choice is C. Of course, I’d also bring a book.
I love the cover and this looks like an amazing read!

Definitely C. One good thing that came out of the pandemic was a tight circle of online friends. Hanging with them always makes me feel better!
Sounds like a fun read. Great cover.
