CHALLENGE: Readathon Memories
This is only my second readathon, but my favorite book from last October (10/16) was The Music of Dolphins by Karen Hesse. It’s one of my favorite kid lit books, and I’ll probably read it again today in the later hours!
Posted to other places, you can find it here!
CHALLENGE: Gabby’s Bookish Crossword
Solved it! I’ll put up my answers tomorrow, but I don’t want any spoilers today. 😉
CHALLENGE: Cover From Memory- Halloween Edition
I’m sorry. I’m so, so sorry. Here it is:
CHALLENGE: Readathon Mad Libs
I’m reading Together at Midnight by Jennifer Castle right now, and that’s what I used. Here’s the original paragraph:
“In an instant, I can picture Shelby Dearden on a bus stop bench, a bag of Tangy Ranch Crispo-Chips in her hand. She’s scarfing them down, getting crumbs all over her chin and clothes, and she’s not wearing a black cocktail dress, but a dingy sweat suit.”
And now the Mad Libbed version, courtesy of my mom and dad:
“In an instant, I can picture Jen Cruthers on a bus stop inflatable mattress, a bag of banana chocolate chip flavored chips in her elbow. She’s flexing them down, getting crumbs all over her earlobe and clothes, and she’s not wearing a pink cocktail dress, but a blue sock.”
CHALLENGE: Mid-Event Survey
1. What are you reading right now?
Still on Together at Midnight by Jennifer Castle
2. How many books have you read so far?
Still on my first book.
3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon?
She Persisted. Or maybe a re-read of a kid lit book I have lying around.
4. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those?
Yes. I woke up around 10am, so hour four. Then I showered, ate breakfast, and got ready for the day. Finally some reading time!!! Then my mom and I took a ride to relax and ended up getting “lost” and we were gone for a little over an hour. Then it was time for dinner and I was updating the challenges, but I’m finally back to reading again!
5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far?
How happy I am to be blogging again, even if it’s not reviews.
I’ll keep adding more as they come!
