Some mini challenge entries and a general update!
Yay! I’ve been reading off and on since about 6pm, and I’m now 61% finished with The Continent. (Update: it’s getting really REALLY good!) I wasn’t able to participate in the mini challenges while I was at work, but now that I’m home I’m going to do my best to complete them all!
Starting with the Book Memories Challenge hosted by Kate at Midnight Book Girl!
My most vibrant book memory is reading Ophelia by Lisa Klein while I was in high school. I remember lounging on my day bed, eating skittles by the handful (not a good idea, by the way), and reading this really wonderful take on one of Shakespeare’s characters. I recently bought this book for my Kindle, and I’m super psyched to read it (once I finish all of my ARCs, that is)!
Next up is the Literary World Tour Challenge hosted by Sarah at Ampersand Read!
The first place I would go would obviously be to J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World (hey look! something from my bio!), but after that I would continue traveling! I’d like to spend some time in the Great Library world (I know they’re evil but damn- the ENTIRE WORLD is run by a library?!? Count me in!), and … is it cheating if I say I want to spend some time with The Doctor after that so I can go anywhere and anywhen I please? Because that’s my answer. First Hogwarts, then The Library of Alexandria, then anywhere/when the T.A.R.D.I.S. takes me!
Well, I’m currently reading The Continent by Keira Drake, and I’ll be honest- I haven’t really thought out who I would cast yet. So here’s what I did- I went to the FC Directory and found people I thought would work! And here’s who I have:
Vaela: Dove Cameron
Noro: Willy Cartier
Yuki: Kim Dani
Keiji: Tyler Posey
It’s time to Host a Book Party (hosted by Christina at Happy Writer!)
I would LOVE to have a Harry Potter Party! (I know, I’m boring #sorrynotsorry) Okay, so first of all there would be awesome instrumental music in the background, and there would be drinks (alcholic and non!) that would taste delicious and we would have SO MUCH FUN!
For the challenge:
Book: Harry Potter
Food: I would try to make everything they have on the trolley cart! You never know what might taste good made in a muggle kitchen. 🙂
Drink: BUTTERBEER. also that DELICIOUS lemonade they have at Universal.
Game: It’s HP, so obviously some sort of Quidditch. But also it would be fun to play a few trivia or storytelling games.
Party Favor: Some sort of magic wand? I don’t have all the details, but something like that.
HOUR 12 MID EVENT SURVEY!
1. What are you reading right now?
The Continent by Keira Drake
2. How many books have you read so far?
I’ve only been reading for an hour or two, so I’m still on my first one.
3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon?
The Accident Season.
4. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those?
All morning/afternoon was an interruption because I had to work. 🙁 Now I’m at home, reading and updating yay!
5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far?
How much easier it is the second time around!
And to finish this update, the Video Game a Book Challenge, hosted by Erin and Peter at Game and Read!
I would LOVE to play a video game version of My Lady Jane by the Lady Janies or Glitter by Aprilynne Pike! My Lady Jane would just be HILARIOUS, and Glitter would be fun because you could see how the decisions you make can change you into a hero- or a villain.
AND THAT’S IT. Back to reading now for me, I’ll be back in a while with another update/challenge post!
Well Wishes & Candy Fishes,
