Top Ten Tuesday | August 16, 2016

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and The Bookish, and this week’s theme is Top Ten Books with x Setting! I chose Books Set in an Alternate History, because I really wanted to. So here are the Top Ten books that branch off from our timeline at some point!

Criteria for this week’s list: The books start out in /or reference a familiar world or characters. At some point it branches off and something odd (magic! time travel! Count Olaf!) appears. If you can’t prove that the events in the story did not happen, I did not include it. If the book is set in the future, but contains no references to anything ~weird~ occurring before 2016, I did not include it. Also, this week I decided to only include books that I have read. Books that clearly fit the criteria (I’m looking at you, Leviathan and Front Lines), but that I’ve never read were left off the list.

  1. Gallagher Girls by Ally Carter
  2. My Lady Jane by Cynthia Hand, Jodi Meadows, and Brodi Ashton
  3. And I Darken by Kiersten White
  4. Percy Jackson and the Olympians (and the rest of the books that take place in the same universe) by Rick Riordan
  5. The Hybrid Chronicles by Kat Zhang
  6. The CHRONOS Files by Rysa Walker
  7. A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket
  8. Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling
  9. The Syndicate by Sophie Davis
  10. The Corridor by A.N. Willis

What did you post for a TTT this week? Let me know in the comments!

Well Wishes & Candy Fishes,

Kait 🙂

    1. Oh my goodness YES! THOSE ARE MY TWO FAVORITE BOOKS OF 2016! I love them so much I had to write in all caps for a second. 🙂
And I definitely agree on HP and Percy. They’re just wonderful.
      Thanks for commenting! 🙂
