Progress Report | July 2016

July is almost over and I’ve only posted… twice? Eep.

I could bore you with the details of why I haven’t posted, but I think we all know the cause… life. It happens. Even when I plan, and schedule, and think I finally got something going on track- sometimes things fall through. So I could continue writing nonsense, or I could talk about the great book I’m reading- which would you prefer?

Now it’s time to talk about why I’m so excited: I just finished reading Dissonance by Erica O’Rourke. I started the sequel, Resonance,  yesterday, and just like Dissonance, it’s perfect. These books have everything I could want in a story, and I’m so glad I found them.

It reminds me a lot of Claudia Gray’s Firebird series (one of my faves!) in both the plot (super awesome and complicated multiverse love story!) and the characters (relatable teen girl with super smart and super covert parents!).

Probably my favorite thing about these two books are that they take this concept that teeters on the edge of science fiction and fantasy, and explain it in ways that make complete sense. Using mathematics and music to explain the multiverse? Brilliant! (Also, give me more PLEASE!!!)

Okay, that’s all I really have to say right now. I’ll be back to posting soon!

Well Wishes & Candy Fishes,

Kait 🙂
