What if instead of judging a book by its cover, its author or its prestige, we judged it\u00a0by its opening lines?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pick a book off your shelf (it could be your current read or on your TBR) and open to the first page<\/li>\n<li>Copy the first few lines, but don\u2019t give anything else about the book away just yet \u2013 you need to hook the reader first<\/li>\n<li>Finally\u2026 reveal the book!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kaitgoodwin.com\/books\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Triangle-Banner-Summer-2020.png\" alt=\"Divider\" \/><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;Fate came for Dottie Epstein a year earlier, in the form of a call to the principal&#8217;s office.
