What about a week? A month, year, or forever?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is tough, because I mostly read fantasy and most YA character\u2019s lives in fantasy are very dangerous and fraught. Is it cheating to say Thia? I want a giant crow! Oo, or someone from SHATTER THE SKY or CROWN OF FEATHERS. I\u2019d settle for a dragon or a phoenix. I don\u2019t think I\u2019d swap with any of them forever though.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Were there alternate endings you considered, or did you always know where the story was headed?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">TCR always had the same ending, but it went through a few alternate second acts. The big plot points that bring us to the finale changed pretty dramatically from first draft to final. But typically, I always know the end of my books when I begin, as the way I write is very much about working my way toward that goal.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>What is your favorite quote, scene, or moment from <i>The Crow Rider<\/i>?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I can\u2019t say specifically, because spoilers, but the final scene of the last chapter before the epilogue had me grinning the whole time I wrote it.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Can you share some things that we might not know about your characters?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hm, let\u2019s see. Ericen\u2019s arc in THE STORM CROW drew inspiration from Prince Zuko in Avatar the Last Airbender, Thia and Kiva\u2019s friendship is based on my friendship with my best friend, and Caylus might seem soft on the outside, but he\u2019s actually done some pretty dark stuff he\u2019s not proud of.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Do you see the glass as half full or half empty? Why?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I don\u2019t think in terms of either, really. I\u2019m a person of middle grounds and seeing both sides. It\u2019s part of why I love writing so much.
