We spend time as human beings trying very much to remove ourselves from situations that are difficult because they\u2019re unpleasant and, let\u2019s face it, no one wants to live in unpleasantness if they can help it. But what Addie is getting at here is that sometimes it\u2019s actually better to stick things out, especially when dreams are on the line. Sometimes it doesn\u2019t benefit us to turn our backs on problematic situations, but to confront them and do our best to improve what\u2019s made them challenging in the first place.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Personally, I do not like conflict at all. I like to mitigate the amount of it I engage in on a face-to-face level as much as possible. Sure, I\u2019ll complain to my friends, and run through all the things <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I would like to say <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in my head, but I rarely actually say those things or confront people or situations that are unpleasant. That said, when the unpleasantness is associated with something you really, really want and have worked hard for and strived for, it is worth it to plow through that discomfort and challenge the problem, e.g., standing up for yourself doesn\u2019t mean walking way.
