Where would you go to eat, hang out, relax, etc.?<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Well, I think I\u2019d have to hang out with both Logan and Paige for a whole day, and those two days would be very different! <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With Paige, we\u2019d probably get up early, go for a hike up a steep mountain to watch the sun rise, grab a quick but nutritious breakfast, then head to the shooting range. At the range, I\u2019d hold my own thanks to the training I received from my dad, an ex-Marine, though my aim wouldn\u2019t be nearly as accurate as Paige\u2019s. Once we riddled the targets with holes, Paige would likely want to get in a quick run, since she\u2019s undoubtedly training for some race. I\u2019d oblige, though I\u2019d run at half her speed and not look nearly as cute or energetic as her. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once we were done, she\u2019d shower, do her hair, put on a little make-up, and be ready to continue our day in less than 15 minutes. I\u2019d still be in the shower, enjoying the warm water on my sore legs. When I finally dragged myself out, we\u2019d head to a reasonably-priced Italian chain restaurant for lunch where she\u2019d devour a huge bowl of pasta with meatballs, three breadsticks, and tiramisu while I stuck to the vegetarian special\u2014eggplant parm. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the afternoon, we\u2019d go for another, longer hike that would take hours but would reward us with an awesome view of the valley. Up top, Paige would read an autobiography while I would take a nap. We\u2019d make it to the bottom just as it started getting dark and Paige would suggest going out for dinner, but I\u2019d be too exhausted and offer to get pizza delivery instead. She\u2019d agree, as long as we ate in the mess hall or outside since she wouldn\u2019t want crumbs in her room. Her best friend Leah would join us, and we\u2019d listen to Muse, their favorite band (and mine!). Ten minutes before lights out, she\u2019d kick me off campus so she\u2019d have enough time to get back to her room and ready for bed. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">My day with Logan wouldn\u2019t start until about 11 since we\u2019d both want to sleep in. We\u2019d meet up at the beach and talk about body surfing but ultimately stay on the sand, him reading the latest thriller, me reading a cute romance. In mid-afternoon, we\u2019d realize we\u2019re hungry and head to a food cart on the boardwalk where he\u2019d get a couple hot dogs and I\u2019d get a soft pretzel with that artery-blocking processed cheese sauce I can\u2019t resist. Then we\u2019d each get a root beer float and head back to our towels. After slurping down the frothy drinks, we\u2019d likely end up taking a long nap, waking up hours later to find out we forgot to put on sunscreen and now resemble lobsters. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Because of our appearance, we\u2019d opt for takeout from the local sandwich place for dinner, which we\u2019d eat in his best friend Gordy\u2019s basement as Gordy and Logan tried to teach me to play Fornite. It wouldn\u2019t last long, as they\u2019d give up on me as soon as they realized how horrible I am at video games. Instead, I\u2019d convince them to play a card game or put together a puzzle. They\u2019d make fun of me, calling me \u201cGranny,\u201d but in the end, we\u2019d have a great time together. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All in all, I think I\u2019d enjoy both of these days\u2014Logan\u2019s for how relaxing it was and Paige\u2019s for how healthy it made me feel to be so active, even if I needed 2 days to recover! <\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>About the Author<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-2596 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kaitgoodwin.com\/books\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Profile-8332-150_8nTbNIo.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>SM Koz was born in Michigan, but moved to North Carolina for college and never left.
