Happy Tuesday and welcome to my sign up and #tbr post for Name-a-Thon<\/a>!<\/p>\n

What is the name-a-thon?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

This is a\u00a0month long<\/strong>\u00a0readathon (from\u00a0July 1<\/strong>\u2013July 31<\/strong>\u00a0EST) dedicated to your name! The name you choose is totally up to you (ex: your full name, nickname, pen name, name you use online, blog name, Twitter @, channel name, etc.)! However, please keep your safety first priority if you\u2019re using your middle name, last name, or any name that could potentially put your safety and identity in danger!<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll read books that start with the same initial. For example, if your name is Sara, your TBR stack might look a little something like this:<\/p>\n

S<\/strong>\u2013 Surrender Your Sons by Adam Sass<\/p>\n

A<\/strong>\u2013 All Boys Aren\u2019t Blue by George M. Johnson<\/p>\n

R<\/strong>\u2013 Recommended for You by Laura Silverman<\/p>\n

A<\/strong>\u2013 American Street by Ibi Zoboi<\/p>\n

Since this readathon is very lowkey with minimal rules, you can make it as difficult or easy as you wish. Use a longer version of a name, use a shorter one, etc. You can even use author\u2019s name instead of book title if that sounds better to you! However you want to customize this readathon is up to you! Also, it is totally up to you if you want to count \u201cA, An, The\u201d as the first word of a book title or if you want to skip to the second word!<\/p>\n

However, the one rule is that you *aren\u2019t* allowed to double dip letters (if you have two \u2018i\u201d in your name like Olivia, you gotta read two books starting with i!).<\/p>\n

Now, one more thing to go over: What counts as a \u201cbook\u201d?\u00a0Basically anything!<\/strong>\u00a0E-books, audiobooks, graphic novels, manga, short stories, plays, poetry collections, self-published books, and even\u00a0wattpad and fanfiction<\/strong>! The point of this readathon is to just connect with other readers in a low-stakes environment, so anything goes!<\/p>\n

What\u2019s a readathon without the social part of it!\u00a0Follow the readathon Twitter account\u00a0<\/strong>@namereadathon<\/a>! They\u2019ll be hosting reading sprints and just using that account in general to connect with y\u2019all! While they don\u2019t have an official bookstagram, Olivia is active on bookstagram (@curlyhairbiblio<\/a>) (@stillhurtingstyles<\/a>\u00a0for Olive) so you can also use the hashtag #nameathon on your posts there if you end up posting about it!<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re also thinking \u201cbut\u2026 I can\u2019t think of a book that starts with [letter]\u201d, don\u2019t fret! There’s a Google Doc of A-Z book recommendations!<\/a>\u00a0This is by no means a comprehensive list (and there are many genres on there), but it\u2019s a good spot to start brainstorming your potential TBR!<\/p>\n

Okay, anyone who’s visited Kait Plus Books before probably knows that I am… horrible with TBRs. At least the part where I try to stick to them! But I do love making them, so here are some books I’m planning on reading during Name-a-Thon (although, let’s be honest… I’ll probably change it up as soon as this is posted)! I’m using my full first name plus my last initial here, so there’s 8 letters: K-A-I-T-L-Y-N-G!<\/strong><\/p>\n
