What if instead of judging a book by its cover, its author or its prestige, we judged it\u00a0by its opening lines?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pick a book off your shelf (it could be your current read or on your TBR) and open to the first page<\/li>\n<li>Copy the first few lines, but don\u2019t give anything else about the book away just yet \u2013 you need to hook the reader first<\/li>\n<li>Finally\u2026 reveal the book!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kaitgoodwin.com\/books\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/green-clover-divder-1.png\" alt=\"Divider\" \/><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>\u201cI\u2019d swum with deadly sharks and stolen from deadlier men. It&#8217;s about the spy known as 355 from George Washington&#8217;s Culper Ring, and it is just perfect. I was also lucky enough to catch a virtual event with Veronica on Wednesday where she talked about her inspiration and research for the book, which really made my reading experience even better!
