GOLDIE VANCE IS ON THE CASE
Sixteen-year-old Marigold "Goldie" Vance has an insatiable curiosity. She lives at a Florida resort with her dad, who manages the place, and it's her dream to one day be the hotel's in-house detective. When Walter, the current detective, encounters a case he can't crack, together they utilize her smarts, skills, and connections to solve the mystery...even if it means getting into a drag race, solving puzzles, or chasing a helicopter to do it!

Update One:

9:59am: So yesterday I was going to get everything ready so that I could just read most of the day today, but I took some new medicine and ended up sleeping most of the day away! Which means that this morning when I woke up, I had to write my posts for the Readathon blog, plus this post, which means I’m not getting started with my reading until a little after 10. Oops. I figure I’ve got about an hour and a half to read, which will hopefully get me through the first volume or two of Goldie Vance, and then it’s time to co-host! More updates to come!

Update Two:

3:09pm: Hi! I’m back! I had so much fun running the readathon twitter! It reminded me of twitter right after #TBTBSanta when everyone’s posting all this happy new, which is, uh… not what my twitter usually looks like. I finished the first Goldie Vance before I took over @readathon, and I haven’t actually started the second one yet. I have been listening to/reading The Diviners though, which is SO GOOD even though I wasn’t going to read it today because it’s like 600 pages long! Oh well. I’m going to keep my laptop open so I can keep approving comments on Vague Recollections, but I’m going to listen to my audiobook while I do it. Happy reading!

Update Three:

4:46pm on Monday: Well, I finally completed all the mini-challenges! At least all the ones I could. I got really sucked into The Diviners on Saturday and ended up reading almost 300 pages of that, plus the first Goldie Vance graphic novel! So not bad.

As always, you can find my Vague Recollections mini challenge over here!

I’ll update this with other mini-challenges as the day goes on!

Opening Survey

1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?

Maine, USA!

2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?

I know I’m not focusing on it today, but I really am excited to finally read all the Diviners books!

3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?

you know, it’s funny because even though this question is here every time, I never plan my food for readathon.

4) Tell us a little something about yourself!

I love replying to things with gifs! text messages, twitter posts, basically everything!

5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?

I co-hosted this year! It was lots of fun and I am definitely going to do it again!

2) Did you have a strategy, and if so, did you stick to it?

Not really? So, not really!

3) What was your favorite snack?

I had egg rolls and mozzerella sticks for dinner, which was delicious!

4) Wanna volunteer for our next event? Stay tuned for the recap post!

Definitely! Just, later in the day. Before dinner is my best reading time and I don’t want distractions next time.

Readathon Bingo

I got bingo! No blackout bingo for me, but I’m happy I got as much read as I did!

And that’s it! I’ll keep updating this post until I go to sleep, so stay tuned for more info!
